The main characters and protagonists in PlayStation games are usually pretty old, and some of them have even been parents. Here are some of the best cases of the same thing.
Freya (God Of War)
As far as I can tell, Freya meant well when she made Baldur eternal and immune to all pain. She tried to stop a forecast that said her son would die, but she ended up making him dislike her.
This starts the chain of events that ends when Kratos kills Baldur and the cycle is over. In God of War: Ragnarok, this makes Freya so angry that she goes looking for Kratos to make him pay.
Barret Wallace (Final Fantasy 7)
Barret is a great character in Final Fantasy 7. When his friend Dyne dies in a terrible accident, Barret takes care of Marlene. But it has to be said that, even though he means well, his deeds put Marlene in a lot of danger.
He doesn’t mind putting Marlene in charge of a loud bar that serves alcohol while he goes on a rage against Shinra. But what makes him such a great character is how much he loves Marlene and how much she loves him back.
The Boss (Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is a great game that showed once again how good Kojima is at what he does. Metal Gear Solid 3 is a must-play for spy game fans because it has a great story and exciting game play.
In this game, the Boss grows and changes a lot. Because of her friendship with Naked Snake, she ends up being one of the most interesting characters. The fact that she is the last boss makes the whole thing more emotional.
Sojiro Sakura (Persona 5)
Persona 5 is a great game that doesn’t need to be explained. Sokiro Sakura takes care of the main character while he is in Tokyo. He is one of the many memorable characters in the game.
He is also Futaba’s foster father, and he does his best to meet the needs of both of them. He’s a good dad who does his best, even if he seems too strict and hard to get along with.
Nathan Drake & Elena Fisher (Uncharted)
Nathan Drake is one of the most well-known characters in PlayStation history. Nathan has had many exciting adventures and fights with death. Now, he lives a simple life with his family, but he misses something from his old life.

The beginning of Horizon: Zero Dawn is pretty good. It shows Aloy and Rost as two outsiders who are learning how to live in the world. Rost helps Aloy grow, and in the end, he gives up his own life to save his daughter.
His death at the hands of Helis is a sad event that makes Aloy want to get stronger and kill Helis and HADES for good. Rost may not have been around for a long time, considering how long Zero Dawn is, but he left a strong impact that carries over to the next game.
Kazuma Kiryu (Yakuza)
Some of the most interesting and action-packed games are in the Yakuza series. The story of how Kiryu Kazuma goes from being a nobody to becoming one of the most famous people in the Tojo Clan is very fulfilling.
Kiryu gives up his life of crime and chooses to run an orphanage to help Haruka and other kids live better lives. He sometimes has trouble being a parent, but his heart is always in the right place. This makes his kids love him a lot!
Joel (The Last Of Us)
When people talk about dads in video games, Joel is often the first name that comes to mind. When his daughter Sarah was killed by one of the Infected, Joel became a quiet, morose guy who did only enough to keep himself alive.
But when Ellie comes into his life, everything changes. He starts to feel like a father again. The first game showed that Joel would do anything to save Ellie, even if that meant destroying all of humanity.
Kratos (God Of War)
Kratos is another character who was made to look like an old dad to make him more appealing to a younger audience. What could have been a bad idea turned out to be a huge success, making Kratos a famous and loved main character once again.
His relationship with Atreus is fun to watch, and both he and Atreus learn from each other as they go on adventures in both games. No one, not even Kratos himself, thought he would be a good father. But he surprised everyone by showing a part of himself that many people thought didn’t exist in the old games.
